Low Fat Diet Health

When people think of low fat diets, they generally think of weight loss. While limiting daily fat intake will typically result in some weight loss, there are many other health benefits that make following a low fat diet a good option for anyone.

Before you get started on your own diet plan, it’s important to understand that there are different types of fat. Your body needs some fat in order to function properly. The “good” fats are called unsaturated fats and are in oils that are typically found in plants. These fats are in things like olive, vegetable, corn and coconut oils. Saturated fats, in moderation, are actually good for you. The fats that you want to try to limit are called saturated fats and they come from dairy, meat and animal products. Things like bacon, hamburgers, ice cream and cheese are loaded with saturated fats and are more difficult for your body to break down. They can cause damage to your arteries and they also raise your LDL, or “bad” cholesterol. The last type of fats is called Trans fats. Trans fats are found in products like cookies, cakes and potato chips. There is no health benefit to Trans fats and if possible, they should be avoided altogether.

Understanding the different types of fat will help you to begin to follow a diet which will improve your overall health. Diets that are low in fat have been proven to help reduce your risk for serious medical conditions. In addition to weight loss, some of the long term health benefits of a low fat diet are:

Lower cholesterol: High cholesterol contributes to a whole host of cardiovascular problems including stroke, coronary disease and vascular disease. Having high cholesterol causes plaque to build up in your arteries, narrowing the passage and limiting the blood flow to your heart. Lowering your cholesterol by managing your fat intake therefore reduces your risk of developing heart disease.

Reduced risk of heart disease: Because of the lowering of your cholesterol, a diet low in fat contributes to better overall heart health and reduced risk of heart and vascular diseases, stroke and heart attacks. A best diet plan combined with a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise is the best way to ward off heart problems.

Reduced chance of developing diabetes: Being overweight is the biggest risk factor for developing diabetes. Since following a low fat diet helps to control weight, it also reduces your risk of having weight related diabetes later in life.

In addition to these medical benefits, there is also the benefit of just plain old feeling better! Diets that are high in fat can often make you feel sluggish and tired. When you incorporate a healthy diet plan into your lifestyle, you will undoubtedly notice an increase in energy and experience less daytime fatigue. Studies have shown that a diet low in fats contributed to better sleep and fewer cases of sleep apnea and snoring.

While following a diet alone won’t solve or prevent all health problems, there are definitely enough health benefits to make it worthwhile. And combining a healthy diet with regular exercise will put you on your way to improved health, weight loss and a healthier life.

Number One Secret to Health

Improve the Quality of Your Blood

“The best way to find out the quality of the blood is to determine the proportion of its acid and alkali. A hydrogen ion exponent of 7 indicates a neutral state, but actually, for the blood, 7.2 to 7.4 with a slight inclination toward the alkali is considered the ideal condition. When the blood is in this neutral state, poisonous bacteria cannot increase and one does not become ill from contagious diseases.”

I first read these words from Rev. Kanjitsu Iijima as a young man. They were contained within his book called, Buddhist Yoga, published in 1975. This book changed my life as well as my thinking about, health, diet, and spirituality. After this early exposure to the principle of acid/alkaline balance, I was given a fuller understanding through the research done by Dr. Robert O. Young and presented in his book entitled, The PH Miracle, published in 2002.

Now think about it for a minute: Where do we usually use the term pH? That’s right, when talking about our swimming pools. We know if we don’t want that green stuff to start growing in our pool we have to balance the water’s pH. Well guess what? It is the same with our bodies. If we don’t want to become overly acidic and create an environment that allows poisonous bacteria and other microforms to grow in our bodies, WE NEED TO BALANCE OUR pH! According to Dr. Robert O. Young as well as a growing number of health professionals, “Over-acidification of blood and tissues underlies all disease, and general “dis-ease” as well”.

Did you hear that last statement? If not, it’s worth repeating: “Over-acidification of blood and tissues underlies all disease…” Not to overstate, but this is one of the most important secrets to health!!!

Consider the fact that a cancer cell can live in a cup of coffee forever, but will die very quickly in an alkaline solution.

If you place a frog in boiling hot water, it will sense the danger and jump out immediately. Now, place that same frog in a pan of cold water and gradually increase the temperature, the frog will stay in the water until it dies. Most of us slowly and subtly experience the effects of long-term, low-grade acidity. We are like the frog, we don’t notice the “water getting warmer”. The aches and pains, poor digestion, lack of energy and mood swings are overlooked or explained away as “normal” signs of aging. Meanwhile, those persistently growing layers of fat store the acid that our bodies cannot excrete normally.

Guess what? If you are overweight, you don’t have a fat problem, you have an acid problem. You see the body will do whatever it takes to maintain the pH of the blood at 7.365 which includes storing acid in our fat cells. Our bodies, controlled by our subconscious minds, are much more intelligent than our thinking or conscious minds when it comes to matters of physical health. Consider this, when we get a cut our bodies don’t need our help stopping the bleeding, repairing the wound, and creating new skin! The cells of our body know exactly what to do.

Do you experience any of the symptoms below?

* Excess Weight

* Pimples & Acne

* Agitation

* Rapid panting breath

* Rapid heartbeat

* Muscular pain

* Pre-menstrual and menstrual cramping

* Pre-menstrual anxiety and depression

* Cold hands and feet

* Light headedness & dizziness

* Exhausted easily and low energy

* Joint pains that travel

* Food allergies

* Excessive gas

* Hyperactivity

* Lack of sex drive

* Bloating

* Heartburn & acid reflux

* Yellow & strong smelling urine

* Headaches & migraines

* Irregular heartbeat

* White coated tongue

* Hard to get up in morning

* Excess head mucous (stuffiness)

If you experience more than 2 of the symptoms listed here, there is a high chance that your body is acidic and you may want to take precaution and change your diet before it accumulates and turns into a deadly disease like cancer one day.

These symptoms which we are so quick to deem “normal” are the Early Warning System of the body shouting – Acid! Acid! Acid! When we ignore these signs, the volume of acid in our system increases and we experience blood pressure issues, bone loss, signs of aging, kidney wasting and increased fat storage.

You Need to Know Regarding Men’s Sexual Health

When talking about health before conceiving, most people only concentrate on women’s health and play no attention whatsoever to the male’s health. They forget that it is most important for the male to stay healthy when it comes to getting pregnant since it is the male who has to initiate the process of pregnancy. This article will provide all the information that is required regarding men’s sexual health. What they should incorporate into this lifestyle is ways that lead to healthy pregnancy. They need to keep their bodies in sync so that they can get pregnant when they need to and do not face any pregnancy problems. A healthy pregnancy lifestyle not only encompasses and healthy sexual routine but also healthy birth control methods when you aren’t planning on starting a new family.

Nutrition, Diets and Fitness

The food you eat, the nutrients you supply to your body, any type of fitness and exercising activity you follow and any “diet” you may follow in an effort to lose weight are all important factors that influence your general well being. To function properly, your body needs certain important nutrients, namely carbohydrates, good fats, vitamins and minerals, among others. When your body has all these essential nutrients, you do not easily catch common viruses and diseases. If you do catch a flu or a cold, your body is able to recover quickly and naturally if you have been following a healthy diet that has all the important nutrients.

Your health is closely linked to your weight, and many overweight people tend to suffer from diseases, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and many others. Today, there are many types of “Diets” that claim that they can help people lose weight fast. Although there are a few effective and safe diets, many “diets” are not safe and they simply do not work. One of the main risks posed by these “diets” is that they teach people to eat more of certain foods and stop eating some foods. The fact is, your body needs all the different types of nutrients that are available in different types of food. For example, there are diets that teach dieters to avoid all carbohydrates, while some tell people to eat proteins only or vegetables only. This is often a cause for concern because by consuming one one type of food and avoiding another type, your are depriving your body of what it needs to function properly and remain healthy.

Fitness and all other types of exercises play an important role in helping people keep healthy. Any type of exercising burns some calories and can help you lose any excess weight you may have, and this will help you to avoid having heart diseases and other problems that are associated with being overweight. Many people today live very sedentary lifestyles, primarily due to busy work schedules, where people spend eight to ten hours everyday sitting in the office. Exercising does not mean that you have to join a gym. Walking round the block during your lunch break at work, walking your dog after work, doing some gardening, swimming, playing tennis or playing golf are all various ways through which you can get active. You just have to decide what you like as a form of exercise and try to do that several times per week.

Starving yourself by going on crash diets or starvation diets such as the “lemonade diet” or “cabbage soup diet” is not healthy and does not help you to lose weight. Some people even try to fast and don’t eat anything till they attain what they feel is an ideal weight loss. However, these are unhealthy ways of losing weight. In most cases, the weight that is shed off by not eating quickly comes back when you start eating.During such diets, you may feel very hungry and fatigued and you may even start eating more and eat unhealthy foods. This can never help you in losing weight. Every food has different kinds of nutrients, so it is necessary to provide your body with different kinds of foods. Before taking upon a diet, you may consult with your doctor to help you in choosing a healthy diet. Although many “diets” do not work and are not based on sound health principles, there are some popular diets that have helped people lose weight, and these include the Atkins diet, the Zone diet and the Mayo clinic diet.

The essential key to any diet is not only to just take up a low calorie or a low-carb diet but also eat protein and fiber rich food. Protein rich food will increase the metabolism of the body and fibre rich food will help you in having healthy bowel movements.

When you are feeding yourself with healthy food materials, you are not supposed to continue your old habits that are unhealthy to your body such as smoking or drinking alcohol. Instead you must drink at least 8-10 glasses of water everyday to increase your metabolism. Sleep is also of utmost importance. It gives your body much needed rest. Make sure you sleep for at least six to eight hours to make yourself feel alert and fresh throughout your day.

Every doctor will suggest that you exercise regularly in keeping step with the weight loss diet plan. Cardio vascular exercises are a must for losing weight as it increases the metabolism process of the body. Some of the easy exercises one can perform are brisk walking, jogging, running, cycling, dance and swimming.

By eating well through providing your body all the important nutrients and exercising regularly, you can achieve your optimum health. You can choose any type of fitness activity that you enjoy.
